Quests / Re: Something after the Chroma Temple Arc?
« on: May 23, 2018, 03:36:35 am »
I knew it, the element pool is already exhausted for the fourth to slip in.

As for the bodily stats, I guess 125 HP/3x Mark/2x Draw-n-Deck should do.

I feel like the fourth deck doesn't really match the "off-color mark" feel of the first three, and I'm not sure the AI can handle SoW/Reflect decks. Maybe consider something like a mono deck with chroma mark and lots of off-color abilities and such, which would sorta fit the theme of the first three decks? Gimme a moment, I'll put a few together...

Quests / Re: Tutorial - Basic
« on: May 23, 2018, 03:32:32 am »
Ooh, looks cool! Is it worth talking about deck playstyles, like aggro/control/combo, or is that a bit too advanced for a basic tutorial? What of the general stuff each element is capable of doing?

I am ALWAYS WATCHING.

But OEtG is broken on my new laptop so I haven't been playing.

Decks / Re: Drill52 [nerfed]
« on: July 07, 2017, 12:09:41 am »
Nice nerf, I guess.
the only issue now is that it's UP compared with Mitosis and Fractal, that gives you the result (copies) instantly.
The only real use this card would have is to avoid decking out in long games.
Maybe copying permanents can make something good but not UP?

Not quite; it has a use as a way to provide a steady stream of fodder to Tesseract.

The whole idea behind Tesseract decks is to cheat out expensive creatures for a ridiculously low quanta cost, which previously resulted in an inherent flaw in the deck. Because you can cheat out creatures at low quanta cost, you don't use many quanta sources, which means you really, really don't want to draw into the expensive creatures you're cheating out. You have to reduce the number of creatures in your deck to avoid drawing into them in order to avoid just getting facerolled on with five dead cards in hand, but this means a few good creature control cards will wreck your total damage output. Furthermore, extra copies of Tesseract are effectively dead, since a single Tesseract will go through all your creatures in short order, but the deck rolls over and dies if it doesn't draw Tesseract by turn 2 so you still have to run six copies.

Hand Drill solves all three problems. Now you can just run two or three creatures in your deck (ensuring one copy will remain in deck by the time you draw into a Tesseract), reducing the number of dead draws. Providing a steady stream of creatures in deck means your total damage output will no longer be capped and allows the use of extra copies of Tesseract.

I'm not sure Tesseract decks are now viable with the implementation of Hand Drill, since they're still pretty slow and vulnerable to permanent removal, but they're definitely in a much better spot now than they were last month.

(That said, I really must question the flavor. Why do hand drills have the ability to copy cards, really? They don't exactly scream Time to me.)

General Game Discussion / Re: Selling cards
« on: December 11, 2016, 09:17:09 pm »
That's how you sell cards, yes. However, you aren't allowed to sell the cards you get at the beginning or that you get from quest rewards; you can only sell cards you get from bought packs.

Fixed Bugs / Unstable Shapeshifter broken
« on: March 24, 2016, 03:04:07 am »
Unstable Shapeshifter seems to no longer copy creatures if two of them are on the board at once. The game also freezes if you end the turn while two of them are on the board.

Alternate title: Wait, you can do that?

Give the Tempering, Ricochet, Ricochet, Titan, Fractal the Tempering, play all Temperings on your Titan, and have a SoR'd or previously quinted Crusader endow the super-Titan for 201-261 damage.

Fractal the Tempering:

Press the Button:

The draw engine is of course Sundial/Regrade/Scattering Wind, which works wonders in OTK decks. Explosion is to destroy the opponent's weapon if necessary. I currently run a three-Sanctuary/Mirror Shield/Flying Weapon variant for arena, but that's only to counter the current decks; it works worse in general.

Mulligan for Novas, but try not to discard anything on the first turn if you're going second. Normally you use Scattering Wind if your hand is full of combo pieces and Sundials/Regrades while you already have a sundial up (or to search for more Sundials and Regrades when you've run out), but using it to rush through the deck for a specific counter like Sanctuary can also be viable.

As with all OTKs, it's vulnerable to mill and to discard/quanta control before it puts up a Sanctuary. It also does poorly if a Sundial gets blown up during a critical turn or if a Trident/Earthquake deck hits all the Fire Pendulums.

There's not much practical reason to use this particular OTK instead of something like House of Mirrors or whatever vanilla OTK fits your preferences, but who's never wished to be able to fractal a spell at least once? (Besides, constantly instant-losing to the deck in the screenshot because it runs Broken Mirrors quickly became irritating.)

Fixed Bugs / Game freezes against serprexalt's Arena 2 deck

I am not aware of why, but for some reason, the game occasionally freezes during the opponent's turn in games against serprexalt's Arena 2 deck.

Fixed Bugs / Black Cat Cremation
« on: February 02, 2016, 05:55:09 am »
I tried to test out a Ricochet/Cremation/Black Cat deck when I found out that playing Cremation on a Black Cat freezes the game. Also, if you play Cremation on another creature and it ricochets to a Black Cat, it doesn't freeze the game, but the game lets you use that Cremation again.

EDIT: Ricochet'd Cremations also just kill the Black Cat without regard for its multiple lives.

Feels strictly worse than vanilla RoL/Hope; the jellies don't do much that Electrocutor wouldn't.

Guilds / Re: Event 3: Voting
« on: July 02, 2015, 01:16:51 am »
Poisoning the Well could be interesting, but it's a mishmash of a lot of mechanics that don't fit well at all thematically. Most notably, random massive disruption definitely isn't Water's thing.

(Shinki Edit: Assuming that you voted for RoT since there is only 1 other vote that isn't for RoT and that was mine. Just adding this so we know what one you voted for.)

Tomb feels like it can backfire so very, very heavily. Are singularities not enough damage on their own?
