neopergoss, pizzaharald, and sael:

It appears the demigods have been feuding again. Neysa's Oceanus, an artifact very dear to her, has been stolen by Hydrax.  If only our demigods could get along better and make life easier for us all...sigh.  As your questing agent, I have secured your contract with Neysa and confirmed your retrieval services.  Your mission is to enter Hydrax's Labryinth and retrieve Neysa's Oceanus. Very little is known about the labyrinth but it is sure to be well guarded.  Prepare for broad and diverse challenges.

OperaAgentsTM will provide you each 25,000 gold upon successful completion of your mission.

Your agent,
Miss Opera Toonist

To prepare for your mission, please:
1. Select/build your class
2. Confirm your card inventory
3. Read how questing works

1. Select/Build Class

Class: Beastmaster
Class bonuses: 6 base card upgrades; for every 2 creature cards in deck, gain 1 additional deck upgrade
Class restrictions: Card inventory must have at least 50% creature cards

Class: Cleric
Class bonuses: 6 base upgrades; cards with healing effects may be freely upgraded (not counting towards base ups); may resurrect dead teammates (not self)
Class restrictions: Card inventory must have at least 40% cards that have healing, protective, and/or buffing effects

Class: Warrior
Class bonuses: 6 base card upgrades; weapons and shields may be freely upgraded (not counting towards base ups)
Class restrictions: Card inventory must have at least 35% cards that are weapons and/or shields

Class: Wizard
Class bonuses: 10 base upgrades; is able to scry, learning info pre-challenge about challenge deck (i.e. size, element(s), even specific cards)
Class restrictions: Card inventory must have at least 50% spell cards

Class: Build your own
Class bonuses: propose and balance with game host
Class restrictions: propose and balance with game host
example: A Serious Death Warrior; Death card bonuses; life card restrictions

Class: Modify or add flavor to a pre-set class
Class bonuses: propose and balance with game host
Class restrictions: propose and balance with game host
example: Wizard -> Dragon Mage; upgrades for dragons; lose access to low-cost creatures because the dragons will just eat them

The aim is to have fun, so there can be a bit of looseness with class building, even adjusting for player levels, desired level of challenge, etc.

2. Card Inventory

Players have access to all pillars, pendulums, and mark cards they own
Players select an additional 60 cards; deckbuilding is restricted to these cards

3. How questing works

Game Master’s role (GM)
  • Describes your surroundings; narrates your experience
  • Asks you to make choices
  • Will duel you with a deck representing your challenge
Quester’s role
  • Design character, choose card inventory, discuss strategy with team
  • Make decisions when given options; answer questions when asked
  • Enter challenges and duel
Player hitpoints
  • Players have 10 'hitpoints'
  • Failing challenges can result in losing 0 to 4 hitpoints
  • Certain events in the quest might boost hitpoints
  • If your hitpoints are reduced to 0, you die; a cleric can revive teammates
