Title: Gravitational Influx
Post by: Shinki12345 on March 26, 2015, 04:59:50 am
Element:  :gravity

Cost: 7/6
Type: Spell
Effect:

All non-gravity creatures lose half of their toughness, gain life equal to the toughness lost this way. Flying creatures lose flying and wings are destroyed.

________________________

The purpose of this card would be to give slow down the opponent to gravity's level and make oty's more capable of putting the smack down on their opponents creatures. This card would not be able to kill creatures directly, but it would also help give support for decks running lots of CC and not many creatures.

I don't like it much. A card that just makes other CC more capable of killing looks too situational

It is situational, but only in deck context. Mixing this with fire storm would be pretty good, and it kind of creates a new archtype for gravity and air(wings + draft) which is kind of cool thematically.

Perhaps adding "gain life equal to the toughness lost this way" would make it better?

Simplify by removing wings destruction

Simplify by removing wings destruction

Kk, wings destruction was just to be thematic and to make sense. It's not required for the cards existence.

Can probably do with a small cost reduction.

^ Is the mass web effect still in? If so then maybe no cost reduction needed afterall... would be a killer card to combo with wardens then.

Yes, airborne removal is a very important part of this card since it doesn't exist in its current form and seems like it should.

Why all non  :gravity creatures and not just all creatures?

Because oty combos well with it. I try to avoid one-dimensional cards in terms of "exclusive to one element" but considering this cards uses among a number of other decks, it should be able to be used despite its disadvantages.

It's also a way to make it mostly affect your opponent
