Note: 3-leg PvP, Siege, and Yin and Yang could start in January 2024.  Mini-war may need more planning or can be run January if generals are appointed.  Community feedback, suggestions, event ideas, etc., are always welcome. 


1. 3-leg PvP

Based off of 3-man PvP from EtG.  2-player teams play 3 matches (3 legs). Best of 5 matches; double elimination, swiss format. Teams pick 3 elements from which they are restricted to for deckbuilding; 10 upgrades; must play 2 of 3 elements in each deck, cannot use same combination of elements more than 2x in a match.


2. Mini-war

Inspired by EtG War; built for a smaller player pool. Instead of 12 teams each with 1 element, there are 3, 4, or 6 teams (minimum 3 players per team); elements are evenly split amongst teams, max 1 element on a team*

Potential teams/matches:
3 teams; 4 elements; 4 matches a round; 1 element per match
4 teams; 3 elements; 3 matches a round; 1 element per match
6 teams; 2 elements; 2 matches a round; 1 element per match

Element selection: tbd*
Vault: fixed set of cards at start; cards discarded when losing a match; vault shrinks; no cards left to field a deck= out of event; % vault based on element selection
Team General: determined (1) by invite/appointment or (2) placement in pvp tournament(s) designed specifically to yield generals of overall pvp skill, not element-specific mastery
Bidding/Draft: Vault size affected based on bid/draft expenditure

*Whether teams and their vaults are element-based or not is up to community feedback (i.e. Team 1 has :entropy :earth :water :light, Team 2 gets :death :gravity :life :aether, Team 3 gets  :fire :air :time :darkness); can also play de-elements with vault built from any of the 12 elements (with certain per element caps)



3. Siege

There's a fortress.  There's a team that defends the fortress.  There's another team that attacks the fortress. Why can't they just get along and both thrive? Because human frustrated. The fortress will have various "objectives" - places that teams try to take control of for strategic benefit.

Defenders get specific card resources and deckbuilding (i.e. upgrades) advantages while attackers get more 'soldier resources' (larger card vault).  Attackers generally have less power (upgrades) but more soldiers they can expend, meaning they don't need as high of a W/L ratio as defenders, but attrition will set in.  Losing objectives becomes increasingly troublesome for defenders as it allows attackers to gain strategic and deckbuilding advantages. Resources can be dispersed unevenly (i.e. Deck 1 gets 0 upgrades, Deck 2 gets 20 upgrades) or evenly (both decks get 10 upgrades).   More details about format can be detailed, but only if there's community interest in the event.


4. Yin and Yang

2-player teams.  One player is Yin, the other is Yang.  Each player has access to Yin-only or Yang-only cards. Chroma cards and mark are banned. 6-game matches.  Further restrictions are not currently planned unless players would like a more restricted deckbuilding environment.

Upgrades/Round format:
R1: Yang vs Yang (20ups each); Yin vs Yin (5 ups each)
R2: Yang (15ups) vs. Yin (10 ups)
R3: Yang (10 ups) vs Yin (15 ups)
R4: Yang vs Yang (5 ups); Yin vs Yin (20 ups)
R5 onward: cycle through R1-R4 again

Deckbuilding marks:
Chroma mark is banned;
When Yin or Yang has 20 ups, the corresponding deck marks must be 'in' (ex: Yin must use Yin marks only)
When Yin or Yang has 5 ups, the corresponding deck marks must be 'out'
When Yin or Yang has 10 or 15 ups, any mark may be used

Small teams with substitutions to help alleviate trouble scheduling matches seems like it could go well
