Decks / Parallel No Cow
« Last post by Niharia on March 31, 2024, 02:58:17 am »
This is a deck I've been using for a while, but never bothered to post... until now! It's not reliable due to being almost entirely dependant on improved mutation. Some days you get the mitosising dragon, other days you get the immaterial shaman. I usually target champions or Arena 1. And no, I have no idea why one of the parallel universe cards us unupped.
Parallel No Cow: It's lactose-free!

This deck is janky as all get out. It does many things, but none of them well.

The strategy is simple: get a singularity or phantom onto the field, mutate it, pump it full of chaos power, and then PU it. Watch out for reflective shields, where you need to mutate singularities, as they are not psionic.
- phase shields for survivability
- lobotomiser for defence - if the enemy throws up a reflective shield or PUs your mutants, cut out psionic.
- quantum locket for early :entropy, and late :aether or whatever element your mutants need to exploit their abilities (if applicable).
- If you must discard, chaos power is usually the weakest card.

I call it 'Parallel No Cows' to distinguish it from the spider cow-chaos power-PU deck I designed first that didn't have enough damage output. The deck could probably be streamlined further, but I'm not very good at that.  The quantum locket update slowed this deck down, because default-starting with :entropy was often enough to get an improve ready in two turns rather than three, and then swapping to :aether next turn would get you to the PU nicely.

Parallel No Cows is most vulnerable to burn card/yoink, early CC/PC, and the RNG frowning upon it.
Spoiler for Here's a typical win:

This leverages that Give checks if the target has singu active to block. Acceleration is cheapest lobo spell (Liquid Shadow poisons singu, which sticks past transform, risking it dying)

Combo is sn+sn+accel+give+regrade, with usual optional +adren +quint

not good

Yes, you've preserved the mutant/PU interaction. It also applies to regrade. I have decks built around each of these combos.

And would you be so kind to please share these decks with the rest of the class?

I'm up for splitting the matches

My order of preference  on decks to pilot:
sopahope (played sopahope a lot vs FG/arena in original, pretty straightforward)
voodoobravery (played a lot off vdb vs FG in original, not so straightforward, strategy relies on confusing AI)
boarhoard (looks straightforward)
placeholder (for some reason this looks straightforward too)
kaleidoscope (not sure why this deck doesn't have more stall, but okay)
swallow (tried this deck over the years & am never satisfied)
destinygeese (this looks like hell to pilot)
(I don't know what hitei's submitted deck is)
malice (I don't get it)

Let's have you drive the 5 you're comfortable with: Sopahope, Voobrave, Boarhoarde, Pimpollo first love, Kaleidoscope.  I'm going to see if I can recruit someone to play the other 5.  Mikuel is working on a 10th deck right now.  I can play the other 5 if noone steps up.  Let's keep play order simple then.  We'll have a fixed order for community decks then randomly assign DG.  Nai should look at quanta...3 mark..wasted water quanta now and could possibly rebuild with Goo and Gravy mark.
Hitei's deck is:

Naii also updated deck after realizing 3 mark power:

We have 9 decks now.  I'll wait for feedback on match format before running the face-off.  Players that submitted decks: note that your deck stats are 200 HP, 3 mark, 2 draw.  You may want to lightly test your build in custom.  If you'd rather I do it, I can fine tune builds with your permission.

*Edit* - current match format will be:

Best of 3 match
Each deck plays one match, then next community deck and next DG are up
Each deck/DG has one match life
Deck order for both sides is RNG
Matchups will be known in advance
Once each deck has a playthrough, we do new RNG matchups for 2nd round of decks that survived round1

We may possibly add a 10th deck if the community player can get it together soon. If added, the 10th DG will be Pele.  Septima will play/record the decks unless someone else steps up in the next 24 hours to volunteer.
