TEXT:
Destroy 2 pillars you control, target creature is removed from the field. Return this card to your hand.

ART:
Place holder art, do not use this art in the game(its not legal).
IDEA:
Shinki12345
NOTES:
(Note: remove from the field basically means that it dies but doesn't trigger death effects. So Bonewall for example doesn't get a stack, and pheonix doesn't turn to ashes. Essentially obliterating them from existence.)
Essentially, this card is meant to be like a giant satellite cannon that your opponent can't stop unless they use mantis. Re-usable spells is an idea that has yet to be explored and I think it seems cool.

As far as power level goes, I think its good but fair. It has a hefty cost and can't be used in very many decks, but it could be very powerful in the right setting and will encourage more use of gravity in duo decks. Additionally, getting more than 1 sattelite cannon is like a dead draw since you only need one, which reduces the amount you will generally want in a deck. I think its for powerful, but definitely balanced.

I think this will really make way for new kinds of duos that will be very interesting to see in a pvp setting.

Guilds / Event 3: Voting
« on: July 01, 2015, 08:43:41 pm »
When you vote, please be sure to post in this thread which card you voted for. Also, no collaberating between guild members on which card to choose, it must be based on your own opinion or else its not fair. Oh yeah, and just as a reminder, you can't vote for your own guilds card.

NOTES:
Synergies:
:life Life :life
  • This is good with Life as the cheap cost of life cards makes it a good source of creatures for its max HP effect.
:light Light :light
  • Miracle and Shard of Divinity combined with this card would make you nearly impossible to kill.
:death Death :death
  • This card is a source of death effects for things like Bone Wall.
:darkness Darkness :darkness
  • The PC part of this card could target your own permanents, allowing Looters' ability to process, so either way, you opponent loses a permanent.
:gravity gravity :gravity
  • Gravy has two cards that benefits from this card's PC: Graviton Salvagers and Debris Barricade. You can grwo defense and offense at the same time with this card.
:aether Aether :aether
  • Again, salvagers benefit from this card.

I wanted to wait D2D or the guild leader (D2D), or anyone else (like, D2D, no, JK, but I'm the newbie, so hadn't thought what to do :D ) to post the idea, but damn... 2 day passed. So I'm suggesting it here too.

NOTES:
Synergy stuff:

:aether: Byt! And Shard of Wisdom, but it's lame.

:air: Wyrm, Sky blitz, Jet Stream

:darkness: Playing Eclipse after playing that card. It's not much tho.

 :death: Shtriga, Vultures.

:earth: Plate Armor, Orochi and if played before Lodestone.

:entropy: Chaos power, Osmosis, Lyca and a hella expensive tactic with 2-4-6 Entropy nymphs.

:fire: Fire Spirit, Lava Golem and anything that survives a rage potion.

:gravity: Otyugh, Shard of Focus, Acceleration, Graviton Fire Eater, Graviton Salvager, Blobs!!

 :life, Mitosis, Forest spirit.

:light: Blessing, Guardian Angel, Martyr, Surgeon, Holy light (Dis iz 2 OP with that), Null mantis, Crusader.

:time: Scarab's effect, Pharaoh's Scarab generate, Clockwork golem.

:water: Steam machine and Waterfall, Bubble shield. Purify is questionable.

:chroma: Of course nothing, why are you even ask?

ART:

IDEA:
Shinki
NOTES:
"leaves hand" means whenever the card is played, discarded or destroyed either by you or by the opponent. Any sanctuary in play negates the card effects entirely (this is to prevent an anti-synergy with using this and sanctuary effects, the added cost you get for the stats for an effect that won't proc is punishment enough)

Synergies:
in-element: unsummon, eternity, Rewind, Fractal (spam the creature. fractal can also ease the discard. Eternity/RT get more efficient at denying if you have draw power or they can be used against the opponents creatures to deny 2 draws and remove a creature from play for one turn), Innovation (discard at will), Hourglass (allows to bypass the drawback consistently even if you are spamming it with eternity for example)

off-element: Nightmare (force the opponent to either give up hand space or discard this), Burn Card (discard at will). Sillier combos that can be made together with nightmare are yoink and clepsidra

CREATOR'S COMMENTS:

Quote from: Shinki
The card might be a little op, but its in death so that mitigates it quite a bit. You are required to play death to play it, and really invest in it due to the cost. Death by its nature is not a controlling style of gameplay, so the card definitely requires synergy with cards outside of its element.

Another thing thats nice is that this card fits in PERFECT with one of deaths themes that already exist. There is another card that already exists that has the same "Skip draw phase" and "Discard effect" themes, so creating this would make way for more cards similar to it for death, which would be neat imo.

New Card Suggestions / Shinki's Random Ideas for Cards and Mechanics
« on: June 28, 2015, 02:14:37 am »
Here is a place for me to post all the random ideas I have for mechanics that can be build into cards. Feel free to take any of these and make it your own, this thread is both for me to remember my ideas and for inspiration for other people.

Card Ideas
Spoiler for Hidden:
  • Creature effects occur twice when activated.
  • When you play this card from your hand, it deals damage to you equal to the cards in your deck.
  • The last 3 creatures that died return to your side of the field and deal damage to you equal to their combined quanta cost.
  • Whenever you are dealt damage, your opponent loses 2 life.
  • Put a weapon and shield from your deck into play.
  • Draw until your hand is full, you gain the sabbath effect until end of turn(immolation op). Discard all cards in your hand at the end of your turn.
  • All non-skeleton creatures become skeletons with no abilities, their power/toughness stays the same. Trigger death effect for each card effected.
  • Permanent: In 12 turns, all spells that have been cast by you return to your deck. Several turns of sabbath occur after this effect is triggered.
  • Discard your hand, add 3 spell cards from your deck to your hand.

Feel free to add to the list.

So, what ideas do you all have for cards?

Guilds / Guild Arena

Your deck:

75% in element, 25% upgrades(7 in a 30 card deck), quantum is in element(because locket makes the game more fun).

Alternatives:

Spoiler for Hidden:
  • Players may change the rules up in any way they choose. The only requirement is that decks must always be 75% in element and the matches must be bo5.
  • If players want to suggest any ideas for alternative game setups, feel free to PM me and I will add them to a list and give you credit. Example: Play with all upgraded cards and 500 starting HP

The Match:

bo5 matches, you can use different decks each time.

What to do if you win:

Post your matches here like so: [Material]Flyingcat 3 - 2 [Cardinal]Shinki12345

For what reason:

For fun, I will keep a record of wins and losses on here just so people can see how they are doing.

Records:

Shinki12345: 1-0

Cardinal / Event 2.5
« on: May 20, 2015, 01:16:05 pm »
So, who is playin what?

I think having someone show up with shifter tall would be a good way to make use of cards we don't usually use. All it would cost us is locket, fractal, and inno. This would make it hard to run cardinal dbh, but I think that deck is too expected.

Another deck we should try is pandebonium. It's by far our best stall deck that I've seen and does very well against the aggro decks we will be facing.

As fir our 3rd deck, we may want to try to see if we can get a Gravity earth duo working with Earth nymphs and pulvy and ajch.

Whenever I make an update to a main section, people tend to not see it because the main sections(such as "Guilds" example) don't show that there are new posts.

Guilds / Event 2.5: Fun with Filler (CANCELED DUE TO INACTIVITY)
« on: May 18, 2015, 01:34:08 am »
Special thanks to kirby for cleaning this up and improving the clarity!

Spoiler for It would be nice to read this:
It was our hope that we would continue to have events one after the other in order to maintain activity within guilds. Unfortunately, Shinki and FC are both finishing up with school this next week and finals are making it hard to keep up with this quota.

In order to keep interest flowing and to avoid breaking the chain, GO's (read: shinki) have decided to make a filler event to hold everyone off until Event 3 (which we are hoping will include prizes this time for winning guilds). Additionally, actively participating members in this event will get a small bonus in Event 3.

Each member of each guild must create their own deck that is 75% in-element (Chroma is in-element) and has up to 50% upgraded cards. Here is the catch: Members in the same guild cannot use the same card in 2 different decks. So if Shinki (cardinal) decided to use 1 or more Eternity in his deck, timpa (also cardinal) can't use Eternity at all in his deck. This includes pillars (marks count as pillars for the record) and pendulums.

Each person can face someone once other than members of the same guild in a bo5 game, so if flyingcat beat kirby in a bo5 match, he can't face kirby again. If you are the winner of said match, simply post the results in this thread.

An example of how results are to be posted is as follows: [Material] flyingcat 3 - 2 [Spiritual] kirbylover314

The winning guild of this event is decided based on the number of wins each member gets. It is expected that guilds are actively searching for matches if at all possible, you may request a sub via PM if one of your members is inactive. The team with the most wins is the winner. If there is a tie, we will do a bo9 guild leader duel, similar to Event 2's tiebreaker.(NOTE: If there are problems with a lack of activity, the winner for the event will be decided based on the guild who is most active in their attempts to participate in the event.)

To start the event, simply have each guild member PM me their deck list. Once they do so, they will be entered into the tournament and put on this list:

Cardinal / Guild Leader Duel
« on: May 13, 2015, 02:24:34 pm »
Let's make some Decklists.

This deck is fairly good vs spiritual unless they bring a Sanc or shard stall, it dominates all of their nymph decks, probably a good deck to start and end with:

064vp046ts0c6ve016u8056u7026ug0471a0671b018pk

This deck has some crazy speed to it and even break potential against Sanc stall decks:

Guilds / Please use tinypic, not imgur
« on: May 01, 2015, 02:45:36 pm »
Just for future reference, please use tinypic for images. I am unable to view most of the image site that people use, notably imgur, so I can't verify screenies since that's the main site people post their images on.

I was very confused as to why people were posting all these Decklists without any screenshots to go with them. I only just now realized after quoting someone in an attempt to ask the question that people WERE posting screenshots, they just didn't show up for me.

New Card Suggestions / Hero's Destiny/Courage/Legendary
« on: April 23, 2015, 05:51:34 am »
 :light : Hero's Destiny/Courage/Legendary

Cost: ~6 :light/ :earth / :aether

Creatures you control cannot attack for 6 turns(adding a graphic by the name similar to sosac), add a shield as sword at random from your deck and put it into your hand, your opponent cannot target your shields/sword as long as this effect is active. Destroy both your shield and sword at the end of this effect and discard your hand.
____________________

Essentially, the idea of this is to create a card that lets you grab any combination of shield and sword to fight as though you were battling alone. Spells are still active, and having a shield that can't be destroyed in play is amazing. Of course, this card is not without its downsides, requiring a player to use exclusively spells to win the game, and even have a block in play requiring them to do so asap.

Personally, my favorite part about the card is its potential to create a whole new genus of decks.

Off-topic / Shinki has a job now
« on: April 16, 2015, 09:26:42 pm »
Incase any of you were wondering why I haven't been as active lately, as the title would suggest, its because I have a job in real life now, so I don't have a lot of freetime. On top of that, I'm also the founder of an MTG group that I work with almost every day, so a lot of my freetime is devoted to that as well.

However, I do plan on still playing an active role in guild development, but I will be relying on my fellow GO's to help keep guilds alive.

New Card Suggestions / Mind Control Device
« on: March 26, 2015, 05:03:15 am »
Element: :gravity(or :aether)

Cost: 7/5
Type: Permanent
Effect:

:gravity :gravity :gravity ; Target creature is now in your control until Mind Control Device leaves play. This effect can only be used once(the effect of the card changes from the active ability to a passive one that implies it is being used after you activate it's effect, if the card is loboed via regeneration then this would remove its effect from the board as well).

___________________________________

This card is similar to the idea I had with Banishing Stone. Considering how many PC effects their are right now, this would not be nearly as devastating as one might think, but it is powerful non-the-less. Probably needs some power adjustment.
