The deck above is fast, has no issue milling down 60 cards decks (even w/ hand drill), and is at the same time resilient enough to keep going strong after mass CC.
Of course there are many more ways to play the Give Stormshield combo, so feel free to post your own!

I haven't bothered to buy enough packs to upgrade all my stormshields, but once the combo is in play, this decks out mages fast. You want the unupped scorpion claws over the upped ones as they attack more. Why are the gives unupped? I... was probably going for the unupped bonus. There's a lot to be explored here, and I don't have the patience/organisation to test optimisations.
Other options to test:
Life nymph - MOAR adrenaline!
Miracle - adrenal RoLs give a LOT of light
Metamorphosis - once you have enough :air, you sometimes want lots of something else
light/life mark - especially if you have upped stormshields, you might not need so much :air
A defensive shield - Sometimes one more turn can make a big difference

Jade Shield seems obvious to reflect spell-ending damage spells and psionic attacks.
What else stacks up?

This is great.
I dropped the Rustlers since there's no Life expenditures anymore and used Chromatic Butterflies instead to offset quata-theft, and it seems to work pretty well, as long as I remember to play the butterflies before the photons.
Very fast Mage-farming.
