Title: AI derps

Might as well keep AI derps to a single topic. Also useful for designing Arena decks with pilot in mind

Won't remove SoPa's for win if it has too many (3+?) copies on the field (now mitigated)
Will infect (really big?) GP'd voodoos
Will RT dragons vs charge walls (?)
Otys eat ally shrieker vs dims (?)
Won't target orochis
Won't properly lobo spores
Scatters player's hand as an improvement (ie play all pillars, AI scatters your hand, get more pillars as a result is good early game)
Plays pillars while under effect of neurotoxin

to clarify, drawing anything playable and playing it makes him not spam useless abilities

to further clarify, it appears that full-hand-with-nothing-to-play is also what makes him use his squid to freeze his own creature. i speculate that not being able to play anything may somehow be inverting the value of abilities?

ai nightmared a card that i could play rather than one that i couldnt despite both being on the field. it also had minotaur on the field

AI doesn't bother too much, until it is too late, on freezing an army of Chrisaoras, even if you have the quanta to ise the ability (it had a bunch of squids and I had everything on my side frozen when I play fractal + chrisaora)

AI was smart and tried to buff my creature to block it with gravy shield, but the buff was momentum.

AI used corpse explosion on a photon when I had no creatures out.

Not that I can recall, but serp said it may have been to reduce hand size and allow for 2x draw, which I believe was likely the case.

AI keeps filling the full field with Cell even against a PA-d Diamond shield (with "The Horde").

No other creature or perma was in play (except pillars).

(And IMO, AI should play the 'Repulsors', because it's too hard to PC to be a real risk factor).

I've also seen it use quintessence on my creatures for no apparent reason. Happened particularly often with a life/grav deck with mito dragons.

It cast SoW to get double draw next turn. Probably needs to be taught that double draw isn't _that_ valuable, but tough to find a good balance

The weird thing is often it quints the spawns instead of the creature with mito although it can certainly do either. I figured maybe it's trying to prevent me from using mito on my creatures but eg in the previous picture I have plenty of dragons out already, quinting one won't do a whole lot.

I'm not really sure what that's supposed to mean. Last time I checked you usually use quint to protect your own creatures.

E: Just noticed, it played the quint first so maybe it's possible it was trying to open its hand for double draw despite playing a bunch of cards afterwards? That'd explain why it didn't quint its own oty either, it played oty after quint.

Didn't get a screenshot, but the AI doesn't prioritize buffed wardens when it doesn't have enough quanta to use guard on all of them. Short of death-triggered effects there's little reason to delay a minotaur with a 0/6 warden when you could just kill it with a 4/8 one.

Draft might have some part to play in this.

There is reason. 4|8 warden can attack, while 0|6 doesn't become less valuable by being delayed

That's actually a point I keep forgetting about, although IIRC in that situation he still had a SoPa up so neither warden could attack anyway. Also attacking with a warden for 4 damage when I'm at full hp seems a rather bad trade when you could take out a minotaur smashing you for 2x6 damage every turn.

Mitosis (Spell) should be considered higher at the time of using it as CC. I think the AI plays Mitosis as CC when the cost of the creature exceeds the cost of Mitosis (I can be wrong on this), and it should be used as CC when the creature you want to CC costs at least twice.

The AI seems to be really stupid quite often against ByakkoVoid... for example, not playing anything nor using abilities despite having plenty of quanta.

AI plays Byt and SoSac. Starts using Byt to increase my creatures attack. It doesn't have a second SoSac. lol.

AI using BL-s as a direct damage, not a creature, even if there's a Soul catcher on field (Edit: AI plays 1 per turn, but only 1. And Ai should prefer playing it for double draw, but does not). At least AI considers it as a  :aether quanta source, if Byt is in hand.

Other thing: Rematch makes the Mark Chromatic in Arena2 Test. Not in the deck mode, just in the actual match(es).

I got 3 space whales out. AI antimatters 2 of them and casts jelly in the third. Next turn I hit it with 3 jellies ^^

@kirby this is a specific issue where AI fails to evaluate destroying _both_ SoPas. I finally decided to stop being lazy & fix this longstanding AI derp (https://github.com/serprex/openEtG/commit/df1ffecc89e62346d2a6c79cfaf8b06d08b9610c)

AI plays chimeras with nothing in play. Presumably it's thinking one or both of "creature in play with momentum is good" or "creature in play with gpull is good".

A check for whichever-is-missing of "if health = 0, gpull value = 0" and "if attack = 0, momentum value = 0" seems likely to fix it.

edit: fippe looked at code and momentum seems to be a flat boost in value, so that's probably why

Pretty sure that's the AI simply being desperate (my deck did not contain any CC), but chapuz insisted me to post it as a derp. I mean, even without the derpy/desperate NM I don't think it can get away from -X/1, really :/

Fortis was saying on the chat that an AI with Golden Goose prefered to summon new Fate Eggs instead of Hatching the ones already in play. The AI didn't have the quanta to do both things (summon egg and Hatch) so it ended with a bunch of useless eggs.

Recently, I tried making an Arena 1 deck focused around the golden goose. I noticed that the AI prioritizes summoning fate eggs over hatching them. With a finite supply of time quanta, this results in a field full of unhatched fate eggs.

Omniscient AI knows what it's going to get out of eggs, so it was declining to hatch an egg that was gonna produce a skeleton or something if it hatched that round. Not a derp, just the AI is a cheater.

Well if it fills the field with unhatched eggs that is a problem. I suggest lowering the value of the fate egg itself, so it gets more incentive to hatch it into something else.

Flooding + Graveyards

AI won't play Flooding even if it has 2+ graveyards + Vultures. Flooding should multiply the skeletons geometrically AND buff the vultures at the same rate, but the AI doesn't see that.
Fixable? I noticed it when testing an Arena deck.

1) AI keeps using Nightmare on my own cheap creatures. Thanks for the free Fractal I guess!

2) VS "Serprexalt"'s mono-life arena deck a couple days ago, the AI Equalized a card in its hand for no obvious reason (wish I kept the replay).
