Displacer Beast / Minor Displacer Beast
Cost: 7 :life / 4 :life
Stats (if creature or weapon): 8|3 / 6|2
Ability(ies):
- unupgraded: "Evades targeted skills.
:aether Cancel next targeted skill until next turn, gaining +1|+1." - upgraded: "Evades targeted skills.
:aether Cancel next targeted skill until next turn, gaining +1|+1."
Anti-targetting skill twin of null mantis.
Loosely inspired by the creature of the same name from D&D.
Thematically, it uses optical illusions to thwart targetting making itself or its allies appear as if they are in a different place than they actually are.
Mechanically, it would function just like a null mantis except that instead of disrupting spells, it disrupts targetted abilities from other creatures and permanents.
Note that non-targetted abilities such as its own, null mantis, growth effects, etc. are not affected.

curious about something:
would a chrysaora's poison ability count as targeting the opponent even though its automatic?
if so, doesnt that mean a forest spirit target's itself with growth since its automatic?

Targeting: The player must target the target
