Lode gets mileage from +1 damage and extends from 2 to 3 attacks before dying. Since this deck benefits from playing into more epidemic, the extra attack from lode may help in some cases. Basically, slower but bigger damage (in theory). Also, lode's active can annoy opponent and does not impact own deck. Petition to make unupped lode's active free.
