Question about the unupped card bonus from an noob:

Why is it higher for larger decks?

Would it make sense to give a bonus based on the proportion of unupped cards instead ?

Then 30/60 unupped would be the same as 15/30 unupped instead of twice as good.

Or is there a reason behind the bonus which I don't see?

There's also a bonus for running larger decks. Unupped bonus is there to make some space for people who don't want to play zoom zoom upped decks. Overall big decks do not reach top income rates. There have been some cases of unupped 30 card semiupped monos having competitive incomes

Most decks are best at 30 cards since the consistency is much better. Lower deck size means draws self correct consistency faster (if I draw 1 of my 13 pillars in opening hand I have 12/22 chance to draw 2nd pillar, whereas in 60 card deck with 26 pillars it's 25/52 to draw 2nd pillar). Drawing key cards is also easier. If I run 3/30 hope in 30 card rolhope I'm not going to get draws where I have 5/8 hopes in opening hand compared to 6/60 hope in 60 card rolhope

Without draw power running a bigger deck implies you're going to be playing more turns than a 30 card deck (otherwise there's no benefit) which means you're playing a slower deck which is what bonuses are trying to reward so that the best decks to play aren't only rushes. This is particularly important in oetg because the game's speed gives an advantage to decks that vomit their hand

Maybe this needs some adjustment tho, since this deck seems pretty good for farming commoner

So I went ahead & made a 60 card death rush which got a higher winrate so a higher winstreak which increased income

Meanwhile someone took my 60 card monofire & got solid results (3.6 ouei) vs Mage with it

Reduced bonus. But digging into why I was getting 7 second games, it seems ai delay wasn't working (where it waits until it's been 2 seconds since it last ended its turn before taking first action), so fixed that, which causes what used to be 7 second games to now take 14 seconds. So no need to reduce bonus
