Unsure why you'd pack Chimera. I assume you have to mulligan rather aggressively. Fractal byts much? (edit: last question may answer why the Chimera is there)

Yes, chimera is there for late game if needed once the dim shields fail. When used with fractal byt and charger it can pack some very high HP so it helps give that one last turn of punch if needed.
Also, makes a nice nasty surprise for players that manage to pack enough lobo or flayers to thwart momentum on chargers.
