Team and Element-use Rules:Players unite as 2-player teams. Each team plays three best-of-5 matches each round; each match is a 'leg' that can be played by 1 of the 2 teammates. A player must play at least 1 leg/match per event round. Once per event may one team member play all 3 matches in the round (only due to scheduling/availability issues). Teams choose 1 element for each match/leg and 1 overall team element. For each match/leg, there will be a randomly assigned 'battle element' that apply to both players in the match/leg. So, for each match/leg, the player builds decks from 3 elements: (1) team element, (2) leg element, and (3) battle element. We are using a swiss-style, double elimination match format. Teammates should discuss how to manage deck building, scheduling matches, which leg(s) to play, etc.
Deckbuilding Rules:Players build decks for each leg/match that consist only of cards from their 3 available elements (as noted in the above Team/element rules section). Battle elements are randomly determined before each matchup is posted. Battle elements cannot be either of the two dueling players' 'leg' element or 'team' element and will always be something else.
- Each deck may use 10 upgraded cards
- No non-ppm chroma cards
- You may change decks between games
- You may use Pillars, Pendulums, and Mark cards (ppm) quanta cards) that don't match your 3 Elements
- You must use at least 2 of your 3 Elements in each deck (If you use an element, you must use at least 4 non-quanta cards)
- You may not use the same combination of elements more than twice in a match (This refers to your 3 Elements); the trio counts as a different combo - basically there's 8 possible combos per best-of-5 match.
The size of each deck is not limited, however there is a maximum number of cards in your deck that can be from one single element (see specific numbers in spoiler below). This means all decks must be a duo or trio.
Spoiler for Deck examples assuming player has earth, entropy, and life:
