Stormshield is my new favourite card (until Serpex decide to make sofree strong again). At the beginning it looked broken, specially with stormspike in the same element and  :darkness activation. Then trying a normal air domin i understood stormshield is.. a shield. So i always try to use is as an advantage tool, and not a vital part of a combo.

first thing i tried is this. Search SOV in no time, then reinforce + druids. Alicorn is for having a quanta source if too much pillars got milled. Deadly Poison is the finisher.

geostormdrill, draw one shaman, search another one with storm, play a shaman, drill. Then search SOVs, win

similar concept, but with catchers. Pulv is in case a permanent slot is needed, the quanta split is risky but catchers need to be fueled

this against champions is more consistent than

027dm097ms017oe067mt027n0057ng057qb018po

(i don't play sobr because is terrible for the game speed of oetg)

so the card advantage created by stormshield is real. The damage blocked is also maybe higher than mantle, with vagger can really slow down a lot a rush deck. Sadly there is also water to have a reflective shield now, (and still i need to know what othernew shields do)

If you buff this up to 60 cards, what other water & darkness would you put in to maintain the proportions?

6x Nymph (queen or water) would make sense, more Stormshields and maybe Stormspikes? Sirens?

i use 5 nt because with 3 stormshields is 8 cards/22 pillars (splitted) and the initial hand sometimes already looks weirds with not enough  :water pillars. So is riskier play 5 nt but there is less chance to draw too much of them.

doubling the deck mean doubling the nt/nymphs. I tried a version with 5 shields, 6 nt, 4 nymphs for trying to be consistent with drawing a shield and if i don't draw a nymph i can still shorten the deck by drawing pillars U can buy a lot of time with 45 pillars but for both decks, the initial hand decide a lot on if u are going to win. NT decks was very strong in old etg, with a little bit of luck they was also fast and already had a good matchup against stalls and domins since nymphs are bulky and once the opponent does not have double fire bolt on the initial nymphs or has not time to stack fire quanta for the second nymph is gg.

But we are in oetg and nt decks sucks for the major powercreep of cards, and that's why a card like Stormshield, that seemed broken is only average.

this is decent against champions (i would have no problem to farm them for fun with it) and Stormshield is just a 30+ stack bone wall destroyed by a single explosion, since there is almost no reason to search cards.

I ended up with a bunch of CC spells (thunderstorm etc.) to make use of the excess Air quanta and to remove skeleton swarms which just chew through pillars like mad.

cool seeing you enjoy stormshield, goal was to be a card that looks broken but isn't, card was inspired by your observation on tutors in Gladius Ferrosmith

> until Serpex decide to make sofree strong again
not a chance
