Anti-CC, life style.
The term “fight” means that the bear attacks the offending creature or player and then that player or creature gets to attack the bear in return. In the case of a player, the player uses the weapon they have equipped. If they have no weapon, then they can’t attack back. This interaction is treated like a one time gravity pull.
The effect will disrupt / prevent the spell or ability that triggers it if it kills the offending creature or if it invalidates the effect due to damage dealt. I.e. If an otyugh tries to eat one of your rustlers while you have a Kodiak active, the Kodiak mauls the tar out of it. If that kills the otyugh or drops its health below the health of the rustler, then the rustler lives.
Similarly, if you had a brown bear active and your opponent tried to cast lightening bolt on a creature you own, your opponent gets smacked in the face for 6 points of damage.
Note, this only triggers on effects that are directly targeting your creatures. It will not trigger when your opponent uses abilities to buff their own army, nor will it stop mass-CC effects.
Only one bear will trigger per effect. If you have multiple bears active, each one will stop a different ability.
