There are 3 guilds:

These guilds represent each individual element within them, as well as the way that each element functions together. People in guilds are expected to participate in various pvp events, and will likely be working towards achieving various accomplishments to reach whatever goal they set for themselves. So basically, you pvp a lot and get rewarded for being active.
At the moment, there is only one event going on, and that is guild leagues. Guild Leagues are basically a mixture between War and Leagues on vanilla, and often lead to some very intense battles. It will also be a big source of gaining Valor Points, which will be the guild currency used by individuals to gain new bonuses during their duels with opposing guilds.
